What is an elixir?

In short, an elixir is our definition of an original non-alcoholic spirit made using whole ingredients. Our main inspiration for using the word “elixirs” is to help shift the terminology of the non-alcoholic world. do your elixirs contain any alcohol?

No. Audacia is 0% alcohol.

What does it taste like?

We chose the name Audacia because we are bringing a product into the marketplace that is remarkably unique, and most likely you will not have other products to compare it to. It is hard to articulate the exact flavor profile. We encourage you to give each of them a try. In our experience each of our elixirs appeal to different humans based on their palette and drinking preferences. 

The most important note here is to try at least two or three sips before deciding. These will be brand new flavor profiles and as such, it takes a minute for your taste buds to adjust (kinda like the first time most of us tried traditional alcoholic beverages!).

Do I have to mix it with something or can I drink it as is?

You can enjoy it in any way you would like! That’s the beauty of our elixirs; they were crafted to satiate any drinking experience. That said, it’s always fun to try them on their own to get a sense of the flavor profile (warning, they will be bold!). That said, most will enjoy Audacia in an elixir cocktail. How long are the elixirs good for after opening?

We recommend two weeks to ensure freshness and quality. Please note: you must refrigerate after opening. Unlike other nonalcoholic offerings on the market, our elixirs contain only natural ingredients and will spoil once the seal has been broken if not refrigerated.

Once opened, elixirs will be good for two weeks in the fridge.

where can I buy audacia elixirs?

Initially, we will be selling our elixirs through establishments that we are working with (full list can be found here). Please note that we are working to build out our online sales and we will announce it, so be sure to sign up for our email list!

do you cater events?

Yes! We are open to bringing Audacia to your special event. We have limited ability to offer this service as we move through our startup phase. We are also happy to work with you to supply elixirs for large events. Please reach out to us!

what are the health benefits of your elixirs?

We do not make any specific health claims regarding our elixirs. All of our elixirs contain a very healthy combination of ingredients. That said, our elixirs were crafted with the idea of building health and resiliency to all who enjoy them. We are all unique as individuals, and as such, may experience the elixirs differently.

can I have too many elixirs in one night?

We always caution that moderation is important, even when alcohol is not involved. Try our elixirs and see how your body feels. While we don’t know of anyone having issues with consuming too many elixirs, each of us is different and moderation is always a good approach. If you have any specific concerns please reach out to us!

what is the layer at the bottom of the elixir bottles?

Sediment! We use only whole ingredients in our elixirs and do not add in any stabilizers. This means that a layer of sediment will be in every bottle of elixir (similar to many natural wines now on the market). Each elixir variety will have a different amount of sediment. We recommend gently shaking the bottle each time so that you won’t have additional sediment on the last pour. 

In terms of flavor or texture, sediment is not noticeable while drinking. 

Why are your elixirs more expensive than other nonalcoholic drinks?

At this time, to our knowledge, all other nonalcoholic elixirs are using natural or artificial flavors, concentrates, acids or extracts for their flavors and/or shelf stability. Our elixirs are decocted over hours from actual organic herbs, fruits, mushrooms and berries. They are made with great care in small batches to capture the intricate flavor profiles and maximize nutritional benefits. Currently our process requires us to produce each bottle by hand, every step of the way. While you will be paying $5 to $15 more than most of our competition, we are confident that our commitment is worth it.

What is an adaptogenic herb?

An adaptogenic herb helps the human body do just that…adapt. If we are out of balance, it can help rally the defenses to rebalance and that adjustment will be unique within each one of us. We are finally catching up here in Western cultures, and learning about the innate wisdom of plants. 

It is worth noting that a few of the herbs like Schisandra berries and Ashwagandha have been used for many years in other cultures and countries. These two ingredients are some of the most revered adaptogenic herbs in the world.

Do your elixirs contain any psychedelic ingredients, CBD or THC? 

No, nothing we use is psycho active. 

Can I drink these if I am pregnant or nursing?

As with any herbal product, moderation is key. If you are pregnant, nursing, or have other special health conditions, we recommend consulting with your physician, naturopath, midwife, doula or shaman prior to enjoying our elixirs.
